| If you have never been to a Ramble, this CD is a must-have! | ||||
| Needed a New Live Album (5/5) | Oct 14, 2008 | Carmen and Lisa Biller | Detroit MI US | |
| We've been to 3 Rambles in the past 3 years. It's nice to have a Live album out since we've been going. "Long Black Veil" is a SUPERB take on a great old Band song. What a great idea to add a female vocal. I always love the way Levon arranges Atlantic City. All you have to do is listen to the unique hit of the snare or the lively sound of his voice to know he's having A LOT of fun! | ||||
| Legend! (5/5) | Nov 29, 2008 | Bill Fleming | Greensboro NC US | |
| I was at this show and had no idea that it had been released on cd until now!!! This was an awesome show and Levon was in rare form! I had the great pleasure of meeting him after the show and he signed my copy of "Modern Drummer" magazine in which he had recently appeared on the cover of. It is truly an early Christmas with the find.....! | ||||
| Merlefest '08 (5/5) | Sep 22, 2009 | Ron Hamann | Saranac Lake Ne US | |
| It's always in my rotation. One of the best Levon shows I've ever seen or heard and I've been tracking them since Big Pink came along and muted The Beatles. Thank you Levon, Amy, Larry, Theresa, et. al. Peace and Love, Ron | ||||

| As close as one can get as one can get other than being there. Great song line up w/ musicians that excel both individually & collaboratively. Must have for any Levon Helm & The Band fan. | ||||
| Levon - Cool as always! (5/5) | Nov 6, 2008 | Ray Gehringer | River Edge NJ US | |
| I've been to a few Rambles and a few of Levon's road shows since 2003 and have to say the Merlefest cd is a great representation of what the shows Levon & Friends put on are all about. This is the 2nd copy of the Merlefest cd that I'm buying and it's a gift for a dear friend and fellow fan who unfortunately can't get out to a Ramble. It's a blessing to have Levon back singing and drumming as he is one of the great American voices (right up there with Ray Charles) and THE BEST Rock & Roll drummer ever period! | ||||

What a terrific band with all the voices and instruments working so tightly together and still keeping the fresh, jsut friends flavor. And oh what the brass section does to heighten all these tunes. An eclectic blend of all the kinds of music that Levon loves, country, blues, rhythm & blues. . . -- a real tree with roots . Hard to say who has more fun at Levon helm concerts, the audience or Levon. It's a joy to hear the band and joy to what him having fun up there on stage. This CD is great capture of the recent concerts. And the sound/recording quality is very good, although I'd listen to it if it was pressed on graham crackers. |

| The best live Ramble recording available (5/5) | Oct 25, 2008 | Mark lavine | Cooperstown NY US | |
| Having heard this show on the live webcast, it was a pleasure to get my own copy. Great sound and great performances by all the usual suspects. Little Sammy and Sam Bush deserve special mention, now we can Ramble on the road while driving to the Ramble at Levon's. Recordings of the shows at the Barn would sell like hotcakes, so to speak, and we all would want as many as were released since each Ramble has different guests, songs etc. For now, though, this recording is as good it gets. | ||||
